Passiflora lutea Sapelo

Passiflora lutea Sapelo, Native Vines - Brushwood Nursery, Clematis Specialists

Sapelo Wild Yellow Passion Flower, or Passiflora lutea Sapelo, is offered in a 3/4 gallon size with free shipping!  It was discovered on the coastal island of Georgia for which it is named. Passiflora lutea Sapelo has been called "the prettiest P. lutea ever" by a prominent Passion Flower expert. The foliage begins with and retains long narrowly lobed leaves up to 4 inches. The technical term is linear-lanceolate but the effect is to create a beautiful texture in your garden. The species is known to be hardy as far north as zone 5 but sometimes when a plant comes from a warmer region, it doesn't quite match up. However, Sapelo has survived through winter and sprung back well in a zone 6 garden. Please note that this plant sends runners aggressively. In rich soil areas or small gardens, consider container culture.
