Fall vs. Spring Planting
Fall planting is often ideal. Warm soils and lower water stress help roots establish before winter. We generally recommend planting at least four weeks before your first expected frost.
Spring planting is the traditional choice, especially in colder climates, and allows plenty of time for plants to establish during their first growing season. Brushwood officially recommends taking delivery and planting right around your last frost date in spring or later.
*In warmer climates, planting is often possible year-round. Experienced gardeners may also plant earlier, particularly with very hardy selections.
